Now *that* looks like Ed! I can't figure out what it is, but she's got just the right simple, uncluttered look to the face, and it conveys her attitude perfectly.

Ed is a character in a very good anime series called Cowboy Bebop.

I still remember the sensation of complete confuzzlement when I realized Ed was, in fact, female. biggrin.gif

Here's the newest thing i've finished; it took forever....

It's a portrait of my online namesake (and one of my favorite obscure mythological figures), Hyakinthos.

He was a figure in ancient Greecian mythology, a legendary prince of Sparta. There used to be a three day celebration, commemorating his life and death, called the Hyakinthia. There were all manner of competitions (athletics, singing, and artisan) held in his honor. Supposedly, he was the eremenos (beloved) of the god Apollo. Apollo killed him in an accident while they were competing at the discus throw; wherever his blood touched the earth, flowers bloomed. They were named Hyacinths, in his memory.

Thank you. icon1.gif I wanted to go for that kind of feel; he was supposed to be a "beautiful youth", so I thought that this would fit the bill.

Thank you. Delicate was the basic thought; most of the classical illustration you see of the character depicts him being waif-like.

And new stuff:

This is a self portrait I did a few months ago from a refference photo; I finnaly got around to coloring it. icon1.gif

Thanks. icon1.gif The original was done for a Demon project for SnE, just the ink work. I took a few minur=tes to mock up a colored version, and this is what came out.
