  1. Beast: The Primordial

The latest game to come out of the Chronicles of Darkness stable, Beast: the Primordial, has been released. They pull you into blackened depths, leap at you from shadows, dive at you from the skies, swarm from cracks in the walls, or break you to pieces as you scream for mercy. Then one night you realize the truth: you are the monster in the dream, and all the other monsters are your family. In Beast: the Primordial, you take the role of one of the Begotten, descendants of an ancient nightmare creature called the Dark Mother. Beasts view each other -- and the other supernatural creatures of the World of Darkness -- as family, which means that Beast is explicitly designed to be crossover-friendly, both in terms of game mechanics and setting. Beware, though. Just because the Begotten see the vampires, werewolves, mages, changelings, and mummies as kin, doesn't mean the feeling is mutual. This game is just crying out for its own forum.
  2. And We Are Back!

And with that, the forum has returned! Now it's time for us to start getting our act together. Before SnE went off the grid, we had the God-Machine Chronicle, Blood and Smoke: the Strix Chronicle, and soon we'll have the Idigam Chronicle for Werewolf. Not to mention Mage 20, the new Hunter book Mortal Remains and of course Demon: the Descent. All new. All good stuff. All of it begging discussion - especially Demon, which owes so much to The Matrix and Person of Interest, and I am aching to play a crossover between Hunter: the Vigil, Vampire: the Requiem and Demon: the Decent. Looks as if I'm going to have to start trying to help out to do my bit, by publicising SnE's return, trying to garner new members and even trying to raise some funds and get donors to return to do their bit. The forum is back. Let's make sure it's here to stay.
  3. Reaching Light - Worldwide Implications Of UK Net Censoring Law Just in case you're wondering, this site is a web forum - this bad law covers this, and could potentially censor SnE from the UK. Also, the topic covered by this blog - roleplaying games, with occult themes - covers not one, but two kinds of esoteric content. So you can see that this is a big topic. And it could affect everyone here.
  4. Hi, was wondering what the status is on the suggested forum for writers, as I was waiting for it to be available to post my short WoD story that's turning into a novel(eventually). It's been months with no updates, so...*prod prod* what's the deal with it?
  5. A forum for writers?

I spend a fair amount of time visiting various blogs and websites of writers I enjoy or, you know, generally want to stalk. I specifically like to keep up to date with writers who've made some kind of impact on the games I enjoy through White Wolf. And there just so happens to be a trend where more than a couple of them like to have little writing contests, free giveaways and other awesome stuff for their fans. So my question to you is, would you like to see a section on our forum dedicated to writers that do this? A stipulation of the writers that would post in such a forum could be that they have written something for White Wolf in the past and/or are doing so now. We are a WW gaming fansite, after all. If the writer wanted to pimp a new book or novella they have coming out, they can simply go in this forum and do it. If they want to give free goodies to people through holding a fiction contest or something on their own sites, they can blatantly advertise it in said forum and link back to their sites where the action is happening. You can talk to them about it, ask them questions or give praise on the posts they create if you wanted to or just go to their site to do it. In essence we would be encouraging writers to come to SnE and pimp themselves while encouraging you folks to not just concentrate on the gamelines you love, but also the people behind them, the people that build the games we love and who continue to, or who've moved off to focus on their own endeavors. Raising awareness of the writers who give us shinys is always a good thing. Would you be interested in seeing a forum like this? Let me know. And don't forget to vote!
