  2. Advice Required

Another game you might want to check out is The Window, published online by Methods in the Madness. The entire game is available for free download from their Web site. The system is barebones, giving you plenty of flexibility for developing characters, setting and story. If you choose this one, let me know how it goes. I've been wanting to try this system out for awhile but haven't had the opportunity to do so. namaste, - J.
  3. Help

I've been putting together a resume and cover letter this week myself. I highly recommend checking out Susan Ireland's Cover Letter Guide. It walks you through each step, giving you plenty of advice about what you want to bring up as well as what you don't want to bring up. Otherwise, I definitely think you need to highlight your strengths and qualifications - right now you look interested and hopeful about the job but not necessarily qualified for it. You want to look qualified. Like Sahajiya said, let them see your confidence and accomplishments! Even if your experience has only been through school you should emphasize it more. What skills have you learned that qualify you for this job? What are your achievements in this area? (i.e., Have you gotten good lab results in the past?) Do you have one or more personality traits the company is looking for? Let them know! Even the smallest thing can better your chances at landing this job. Also, you might want to close your letter with something like "I'll call you within the week to arrange an interview."

  11. Equilibrium

There's a guy in our Shadowrun group that wanted Gun Kata so bad he could taste it, and he went so far as to loan us his copy of Equilibrium to show us what he meant. He handed us the movie with a warning "The story sucks but the action sequences are hands down the best. You'll see what I mean." Between that and the fact that I knew our local video store couldn't sell used copies of this to save their lives, I so did not want to see this movie. It sat on our table for about a week before ezo mentioned that we really ought to watch at least the first fifteen minutes for our friend's sake... And, y'know, Equilibrium is not that bad of a movie. It had a great story with lots of promise. And, for the most part, it delivered on that promise. It was beautiful to watch, I loved the scenery and overall atmosphere of this one. I do remember watching some of the action sequences and feeling underwhelmed though. Not a bat little movie at all. I'd see it again. namaste
  12. Sin City

That would be the one. namaste
  13. Revenge of the Sith

I didn't bother to see the first two, so I don't likely see myself bothering to see the third one. Besides, I'd rather see Sin City (again) and Kung Fu Hustle. namaste
  14. Sin City

Chronologically, the stories work sort of* like this: 1. That Yellow Bastard (finishes just after A Dame to Kill For begins) 2. A Dame to Kill For (not in the movie save for Dwight's lines regarding Marv in Katie's Club) 3. Sin City/The Hard Goodbye 4. Hell And Back (not in the movie) 5. The Big Fat Kill 6. Family Values (not in the movie) *By sort of I mean that quite a few of them begin and end in the middle of each other. There's also a handful of one-shots (Just Another Saturday Night, The Babe Wore Red and Other Stories, Sex & Violence, Silent Night, Lost, Lonely, and Lethal, etc.) that I don't think have all been collected yet... those might be harder to get a hold of but are definitely recommended, especially since the opening scene (The Customer Is Always Right) comes from The Babe Wore Red. The very last scene in the movie was the only scene not directly from the comics. I very much liked it, and thought it helped tie the movie together. There's also a prestige art book and a card set out there, for fanatics like me. And Frank Miller's cameo was just awesome. namaste
  15. Sin City

I've loved Sin City since I first visited it 7-8 years ago with That Yellow Bastard. When I saw the advanced footage that was shot for last year's summer comic conventions I told ezo that April 1st was already planned for us this year. If you love film noir, violence, warped morals, hardened, tough guys, sexy dames with all the right curves & bite, and movies that stay true to their roots - then this is one movie you just can't miss... "This one is for us. That's US up there," Frank Miller at the advance screening for Sin City.
