  1. Pack ideas for campaign

Not being picky, but the Great Barrier Reef is next to Queensland not New South Wales. Sydney waters are far too cold for reefs to form Sydney would have quite a few packs i would say In the city centre there would be a few city specialised packs, in the suburbs surrounding there would be the same. There would be more than a handful as we have many landmarks that would call for spiritual activity. In areas spanning out towards blue mountains, up to the hawksbury river and down to the south you'd be getting into more "remote" areas. By this i mean it's pretty much still a stones throw away from the city yet has much more privacy than the CBD. Then you move out in to rural properties from there where there might be a few but not too many Not to mention the national parks that we have to the south we have botany bay national parks, to the north we have lane cove national park etc I would say the amount of werewolves would be genetics, based on much chance so you'd really be able to suit it to your story
  2. Crossover (Vampire/Werewolf)

"MAGATH The bizarre and shunned magath are the outcasts of the spirit world. While they aren’t hated and feared, they have no place within the mainstream of the spirit courts. Their crime? Defying the natural order of things. Odd crossbreeds might be the stuff of children’s fantasy for humanity, but in the spirit world, a poorly chosen consumption of one spirit by another can produce a car-spirit with aspects of a holly-spirit. This crossbreed is shunned by natural and artificial choirs and is on its own from the moment it comes into being." Pretty much a cross of spirits that cannot be, like a half car half rhino spirit
  3. High Speech

  4. Gift of strength

I'd have to kind of agree that it is over powered for a 1 dot gift. Considering some of the other 1 dot gifts this is probably one of the, if not the, best first dot gift in the game. The only thing is the cost of willpower, which means that theoretically it is hard to come by relatively to essence. On average i'd say most beginning characters would have about 5 willpower with a 10+ essence track. Essence all you have to do is draw from loci, while willpower has to be earnt. We also have to remember we are dealing with werewolves so if they were going to do real attacks with real damage they would not be in human or dalu form unless they were using a fighting style or versing humans. It is an expensive cost because if they were versing humans, you might as well send them into lunacy. If we are attacking supernatural creatures a werewolf would embrace their wolf halves and the power of mother luna. Changing form means extra health, strength and lethal damage without the expenditure of willpower. thoughts?
  5. IR + Distorted Image = ???

not to mention how recently they have fed
  6. Fighting Style: Capoeira

Oh yeah i love capoeira fighter Heh but i can't really play, i kind of button mash But the moves look cool
  7. Fighting Style: Capoeira

Yay more people inputting ideas The problem i have with this idea is that, in my opinion it doesn't do enough for characters, game mechanics wise. Hypothetically if the character had the minimum str+brawl check for this merit then the would have a dice pool of 3. If they were to forgo a turn for a +1 modifier they would in the end have recieved 4 dice over the two turns If they had not forgone the turn they would automatically have recieved 6 dice over the two turns. Secondly i already implemented the idea in Feint Attack and i don't think people would appreciate another dice modifier move. The same problem applies for feint attack, being that you recieve less dice than two turns of the same move. However i figured that people would be more inclined to forego the turn if they were pairing it up with a move like folha seca who's attack inflicts lethal damage AND who's dice pool decreases, the more it is used. So i think if we were to implement ginga as an alternate 1st dot we'll have to change the concept slightly and depending on how similar it is we may need to replace feint attack too. Don't forget ginga is a moving stance so you are still doing it even if you don't activate the ability. However i did have defensive swipe more like the move you are proposing except defensively not offensively. I LOVE the idea of having alternate levels for all merits and abilities, and would love to hear some more ideas
  8. Obfuscate that ugly ass, biznitch!

My preference is that different clans have different variations on the disciplines For Nosferatu i'd keep it as is For Mekhet i'd swap them around reason being, mekhet are the stereotyped information gatherers and nosferatu are the designated freaky guys. Having people appear disappear = freaky, being able to impersonate people = information gathering however there would be the need for serious balancing to be done for each discipline if each clan were to have variations so that might be a pain ps: my response doesn't really have a category in the poll, the closest thing is disagree but mine kind of agrees yet disagrees, i don't know doesn't quite cut it either!
  9. Nudity and werewolves

  10. Covenant Status

Don't forget that kindred, unlike people, probably need to prepare a great deal before entering another prince's territory. They need a place to stay, they need permission from the local prince, they need feeding rights etc etc Any Kindred wanting to retain their status would probably at minimum contact the area head of their covenant to contact the head of the covenant in the new territory before making the trip to announce their imminent arrival. This is probably a definite approach for high ranking kindred who want their presence known. Lower ranked kindred may not have the luxury of this kind of treatment But of course there are also some kindred don't want to be known anyway....
  11. Fighting Style: Capoeira

Thanks for the reply Hehe well when i was making this merit i didn't want to make a merit that was powerful in every respect and so i decided to cut out the strength aspect. Also i definitely agree that Capoeiristas can kick rather hard, but all other martial artists with training can kick hard. But i didn't find kicking hard being a unique aspect of capoeira. I've been told by my instructors that in a real fight there isn't always time to plan your moves so thats why i left room for being able to use basic strength + brawl between capoeira moves. Say if you only had 2 dots of capoeira you wouldn't be proficient enough to not randomly throw a punch or kick that wasn't capoeira based in. Also, in game terms if really wanted, you could also call your str+brawl attacks capoeira moves like Quiexada or Armada for the fluidity of story. But when you do get a second (or three in WW terms ) you can put yourself in a much better position, hence the incorporation of 'feint attack' which can be used in conjunction with basic attacks, folha seca or even rasteira (pronounced with a 'h' in the place of the first 'r') I didn't incorporate ginga as a move because no other fighting style incorporated a stance as a move (in my opinion it is a stance, albeit a moving stance). Even though the ginga is an intergral part of capoeira as all moves flow and stem from it, I would think that all stances in all fighting styles would be integral But is there something in particular that you would like to add to the merit? (I wasn't sure what you were quite getting at )
  12. Diffculty settings in the nWoD

Wow that's an amazing amount of dice O.O I'm not complaining about the dice pool. But generally in our games we don't have nearly as many as 15 dice. I think that the difficulty of successes makes the game more realistic and more fun to play BUT it is hilarious when by chance (no fault of the system) i continually fail something that i should be good at (By this i mean failing with 20 dice over multiple attempts) Interesting though, i had never considered equipment being an important factor in WOD games, i'll definitely have to think on it more if i like it or no
  13. One more pass at Obfuscate

Yes the cloak does drop. The cloak will drop if the vampire does something to attract attention. A dart will give away the exact position it was shot from no matter how quiet it is. The one being attacked will probably not drop straight away from poison and will have a chance to swivel round. Thus they know you are there and will not ignore you like if you were walking around with obfuscate on. Additionally if they have allies they will also see where the dart landed on the victim and know where it came from. There is no real way you can completely make the attack covert. But i suppose your ST could give you a contested dice roll to try and do so. Your only hope is to reactivate the cloak before they catch you This is why it probably matters little if you get uncloaked in a crowded place, you can always recloak or meld back into the crowd. The ruling is not that specific, but in my opinion it is if you do any deliberate actions that in real life would cause someone to turn their head is sufficient for the dropping of the cloak. thoughts?
  14. Damn, I think I soiled my pants!

I'm so looking forward to my next vampire game But first there is werewolf and mage to go! Wow it's so hard to keep up with all the releases!
  15. Sell me on the Forsaken

I haven't a clue if this is what you are looking for but from my experience with the game so far. In vampire, everyone thinks they are or wants to be in total control. In werewolf there is no such thing as real control. You have to protect your territory, you don't know what to expect from beyond the gauntlet, you don't know if you can control your two halves, you don't know if you will fall into death rage and kill everything dear to you. Everything is fast paced, dangerous and thrilling at the same time I can't comment on mage as yet, i'll tell you when i get to play it
